Rug Hooking—A Celtic Rug in Progress

celtic hooked rug in progress

Mum calls this a Celtic Bloodline Knot.

I had such amazing feedback from my last rug hooking post, that I thought it would be nice to continue to share my Mum’s latest hooked projects. Her fingers are always busy creating some new, vibrantly-hued rug—that I hope to inherit one day 😉

This latest rug is called a Celtic Bloodline Knot. My Mum’s Father is from County Cork, Ireland— it’s a place she dreams of going one day, and a place that I hope to send her to, if I ever have the means. In the meantime, she has created a couple Celtic rugs as a nod to her Irish heritage (her maiden name is Flanagan—I’m thinking she should be a red-head LOL).

Here is one of her finished celtic knot rugs that I have already had the pleasure of inheriting. I really need to find a good place in my home to display this one (shamefully, it’s currently in the basement). I may re-paint one of my boys bedrooms and use it in there.

I love how she signed this one.

What are you currently working on?

Until next time,

Happy crafting!!!
